Monohull yachts are usually less expensive to purchase than catamarans for the same length overall (LOA) and, in many ways, less expensive to operate - catamarans will frequently be charged double for marina berths, simply because of their extra width (they typically occupy two marina berths). Also, for the same reason, when it comes time to haul-out and replace the anti-foul, it is much easier to find a travel-lift that can accommodate a monohull cruising yacht, compared to a catamaran.
There was once a monohul yacht builder in Mariveles, Bataan, who made superb 36-foot yachts of the Sparkman & Stevens design. These yachts are all still afloat but are now scattered throughout South East Asia. There is currently no company making monohull cruising yachts in the Philippines so, if you want to invest in your dream yacht for cruising the islands of the Philippines or further afield then you will have to look for a visiting yacht for sale or a locally registered yacht.
Listed here are monohull cruising yachts for sale that will get you cruising (and racing) in the Philippines. All have sailed here from across seas and / or oceans, from as far away as the U.S.A., Australia and Europe; some are also suitable to be put into service as charter yachts.
